The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) lottery of 1,384 apartments was supposed to take place today at 10 am. The highlights of MHADA’s lottery for this year includes three flats, amounting to Rs 4.99 crore, Rs 5.13 crore and Rs 5.8 crore respectively.
It is to be noted that for MHADA’s 1,384 house lottery, it received almost 1.60 lakh application for the year 2018.
The houses put on lottery were the Dhavalgiri apartments which are located near August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. The lottery offers faced controversy after a petition was filed in the Bombay High court on December 4 by the managing committee of Dhavalgiri housing society pertaining to the ownership of the property. The housing society also claimed that the “owner” owes them dues averaging Rs 75 lakh since 2013.
According to a report published in The Times of India, the lottery is webcast live and the results of the same will be uploaded on the official website of MHADA at 6 pm. In total, the Mhada has received 1.64 lakh applications. For the lottery on Sunday, MHADA received Around 136 applications.
Notably, all the applicants can keep an eye on the lottery on the large screens installed at MHADA’s Kala Nagar headquarters. The entire process will be monitored by housing minister Prakash Mehta as well as housing board president Uday Samant.
The other flats which come under the MHADA’s lottery package are EWS, LIG, MIG and HIG flats. These flats are spread across Pratiksha Nagar Sion, Mankhurd, Mahavir Nagar Kandivli, Antop Hill Wadala, Goregaon, Mulund, Chandivli and Vikhroli across the state.
All the apartments were constructed by a private builder in 2003. According to reports, the cost of Flat no 501 on the fifth floor was Rs 5.8 crore, while the cost of Flat no 301 and Flat no 302 on the third floor was Rs 5.13 crore and Rs 4.99 crore respectively.
Apparently, since MHADA’s inception, it has constructed around 4.5 lakh units in Maharashtra.
