#MeToo hits Suhel Seth; Tata Sons terminates contract
The #MeToo movement has hit adman and socialite Suhel Seth too as several models and media personalities accused him of sexual misconduct. Tata Sons on Monday terminated his contract.
News agency ANI quoted a spokesperson of Tata Sons saying, “Counselage’s (Suhel Seth) contract with Tata Sons will end on November 30, 2018.”
Suhel had played a very important role in rebranding the century-old corporate hit by 2016 Cyrus Mistry controversy.
The author has been accused by half a dozen women of sexual abuse. Last week, famous model Diandra Soares took to Facebook and recounted her horror.
Soares talked at length about his misbehaviour and how she hit back at him. She spoke about how Seth had behaved during a party ‘shoved his tongue down’ her mouth and how she retaliated by ‘biting’ it and ‘squeezing his b****’
The model in the post said, “He looks at me like a boy bewildered and with feelings all hurt & says, “You bit me really hard !!!” (In baby voice no less ) While he was holding his tongue still looking absolutely innocent & hurt at MY behaviour.”
She added, “The reason I finally decided to speak out is because when I read the #metoo stories my heart bleeds for what we women go through. And because nobody has called out this behaviour at various events & parties & even public events on stage… because of the SILENCE these predators have had more & more power & courage to continue this appalling, vile, animalistic behaviour. I speak up in solidarity to my fellow women who have so bravely come out and spoken about Suhel Seth.”
Many women including author Ira Trivedi, have accused Seth of harassment. In a column written for Outlook, Trivedi alleged that Seth had ‘told her not to wear a bra’.
