Days after Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta alleged Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, the Pandora box has opened for #MeToo. Several bigwigs of Bollywood including Subhash Ghai, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Kailash Kher, Rajat Kapoor have been accused of sexual harassment so far.
Veteran writer Salim Khan, who is known for always being vocal and opinionated, took to a Twitter to appreciate the survivors for being so brave. Salim Khan also shamed the accused.
He tweeted saying, “The only defence they have is “Why so late?” It is better late than never. You don’t have to wait for the result, you have already won great public support. Aadmi pahad se gir kar khadda ho sakta hai…apni nazron se girkar nahin.”
On Monday, Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend Somy Ali shared an emotional post in support of everyone coming forward with their stories.
“As a survivor of sexual abuse at the age of 5 and rape at 14, I would like to salute all those that have spoken up and plan on doing so. I know it is very difficult to do it because I have been there and it took me many years to be able to talk about it. It takes immense amount of courage to share this with the world,” she wrote.
However, Salman Khan has refused to comment on the ongoing #MeToo movement by playing it safe and bluntly shutting it down by saying that he’s not aware about what’s happening.
