The #MeToo movement has gathered momentum over the last fortnight with a number of women coming forward with personal accounts of sexual harassment at the workplace.
Several filmmakers and actors, politicians and journalists have been named. Many senior filmmakers such as Vikas Bahl, Sajid Khan have stepped down from their positions and some names like Alok Nath have shocked us. MJ Akbar, who is a renowned journalist and has been an editor at various organisations has also been accused. Most likely, he will also step down from his position.
The movement was spurred on by actor Tanushree Dutta who accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of a 2008 film.
