Deepika Padukone plays it safe as a Barbie at the Met Gala 2019 held in New York
The 2019 Met Gala was held in New York City on Monday night and the prestigious event was attended by the who’s who of the glamour world. The theme this year was ‘Camp : Notes on Fashion’, and was all about self-expression, humour, theatricality and exaggeration. Deepika Padukone was also seen gracing the pink carpet, this is her third year in attendance.

The Diva was dressed in a pink Zac Posen gown.
The gown had a strapless corset fit top and a layered, architectural skirt with crystals.
She had accessorised her look with a big, bouffant hairdo, a dark lip, earrings and a headband.
Deepika has been criticised for playing safe and not following the theme set for the event.
This year too she has played safe. We think she should be a little bold and experiment with her looks. She could have gone for some bold makeup look and added a pinch of theatrics to her overall look.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone is busy with the shoot of her upcoming release ‘Chhapaak’. The Meghna Gulzar directorial has the Padmaavat star donning the garb of an acid attack survivor. The story of the film is based on Laxmi Agarwal and also features actor Vikram Massey in a pivotal role. Chhapaak also has the Diva turning producer. The movie will be releasing on January 10, 2020.
