Met Gala usually takes place on the first Monday of May every year. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the star-studded celebrity event of the year has been postponed and will take place in the month of September. This year’s Met Gala will be returning but this year’s gala would be more intimate compared to the past events due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala is the most star-studded celebrity event of the year. It is widely regarded as among the most prominent and most exclusive social events in the world. It marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit.
According to a report on Page Six, the September Met Gala had already sold out with solo tickets reportedly costing $30,000 and tables going for $275,000. As per the latest reports, Call Me by Your Name actor Timothee Chalamet will be one of the hosts. This will also mark Chalamet’s debut at the event. As the Met Gala is all set to return soon! The event will take place on September 18, 2021. The Met has a two-part American Fashion exhibit upcoming. It will honor the Costume Institute’s 75th anniversary and explore modern American Fashion.
A larger Met Gala will return on May 2, 2022. Part Two, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” will showcase American fashion development.
