Mehul Choksi found in Dominica, to be deported to India
Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, was captured in Dominica after fleeing from Antigua and Barbuda.
On Monday evening, Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi had gone missing from his home in Antigua and Barbuda, where he had been staying since 2018 after taking citizenship in 2017, his lawyer Vijay Aggarwal confirmed that Choksi has been missing since Sunday.
Now, Choksi has been captured in neighboring Dominica after an Interpol Yellow Notice was issued against him.
News agency ANI tweeted: “He (Mehul Choksi) was found in Dominica, that he may have entered illegally, possibly by boat so Dominican government is cooperating with Antiguan & Indian governments. Mr Choski will be deported from Dominica,” says Antiguan PM Gaston Browne.”

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne spoke to news agency ANI and said that Choksi will be deported to India and Indian authorities are in touch with those in Dominica.
PM Browne also speculated that Choksi had fled to Cuba as no aircraft with a flight plan having him as the passenger has left the country, leaving the only option of travelling by boat.
A government source to India Today, “As Mehul Choksi is not in Antigua and he is not a citizen of Dominica, he can be directly deported to India based on the Red Corner Notice issued against him by Interpol. He is a wanted accused for India and deportation can be one of the options.”
Mehul Choksi is facing charges of corruption and being probed by CBI and ED here in India. Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi have been allegedly extorted off Rs 13,500 crore of public money from the state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB)
