On Friday i.e May 7, a massive fire broke out in the ND studio which is located in the Karjat area. The iconic set has caught up the fire apparently leading to a huge loss to the owners. Several films and TV shows have been shot inside this studio. Nitin Chandrakant Desai is the owner of the ND studios and he has been an active art director in the industry. According to the media reports, the fire broke out inside the old sets of Jodhaa Akbar, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai.
As per the reports, a major portion of the ND studio got destroyed due to the fire on the old sets. It is said to have erupted at around 12 noon on Friday. The cooling operations are currently underway and the firefighters are said to have rushed the location in about an hour after the fire broke out was reported.

For the unversed, popular films such as Kick, Slumdog Millionaire, Bajirao Mastani, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo including many others were shot at the ND studio. Even after years of shooting the Jodhaa Akbar movies, the old set was kept intact by the authorities and it is one of the attractions sites at the studio. The place is also popular after Bigg Boss was shot here.
