Watch: Mark Waugh has an embarrassing moment after failing to pronounce Fakhar Zaman’s name
Some names are often difficult to pronounce, especially if you haven’t heard it ever before. And Former Australian cricketer Mark Waugh realised just that when analysing the opening day of the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia.
Fakhar Zaman, who made his Test debut scored a brilliant 94 and shared over a century-run partnership with skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (94) to bail Pakistan out of trouble and help them post 282 runs on board.
Waugh along with fellow Australian cricketer Brett Lee was in the studio analyzing the innings, when the former failed to pronounce the surname of Fakhar, drawing laughter from the others present in the studio. Lee also helped Waugh with the surname but the southpaw already had his embarrassing moment on air.
Hahaha Fakhar Zaman ?
Thanks for the laugh, @juniorwaugh349!#PAKvAUS pic.twitter.com/v03aoYabFQ

“I think Jon Holland is bowling a bit too slowly. We saw Fakhar Zazam…what’s his name?” Waugh asked. Lee helped him out “Zaman” bursting into laughter. Embarrassed Mark said, “I was close, come on” struggling to control his laughter after realizing his mistake.
Meanwhile, Pakistan are cruising towards victory after taking over 500 run lead. Australia were dismissed for 145 in the first innings, with Mohammad Abbas and Bilal Asif taking five and three wickets respectively.
In reply, Pakistan declared their second innings at 400 for nine, with over 500 runs lead. At the end of Day 3, Australia are 47/1 and need more 491 runs to win the match with two more days of play remaining.
The first Test had ended in a draw after fighting innings from Usman Khawaja and skipper Tim Paine.
Mark Waugh is loving talking about Fakhar Zaman and pronouncing his name so it sounds quite rude and Brett Lee is giggling. Well done boys. Good luck in the Under 15s this weekend. #AUSvsPAK
