Mariah Carey Thanks First Responders Amid COVID-19 Crisis By Singing Hero
“We are united in this effort and in this moment,” she declared.
Mariah Carey expressed her gratitude to all the first responders on Good Friday with an at-home performance of her 1993 song Hero. She thanked the first responders who were on the frontlines of the battle against COVID-19.
“We are united in this effort and in this moment,” she declared. “I want to take this time to acknowledge and honour the sacrifices of those who work every day taking care of their communities,” she continued. She called them, “the heroes who are making our daily lives possible.”
Mariah Carey performed her hit song Hero with the help of long-time musical director Daniel Moore on the piano.
In addition to her heartfelt rendition of Hero, Mariah Carey also performed during Elton John’s Living Room Concert for America recently.
She sang Always Be My Baby from her home studio in New York. Meanwhile, she thanked her own babies for sticking through the coronavirus pandemic. Carey was joined by her backup singers from their own locations as the songbird took her audience through a magical performance. Before wrapping up, Mariah Carey emphasized on the importance of staying cautious. She said she was going to put her gloves back on, even in her own house.
However, Mariah Carey wasn’t the only singer who stole the show during Elton John’s Living Room Concert for America. The Backstreet Boys got innovative as they put up a pre-recorded performance from their own homes. The band sang their hit number I Want It That Way. The performance was a truly spectacular one as they were spread out between Orlando, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Moreover, Kevin Richardson’s kids, Mason, 12, and Maxwell, 6 also made an appearance.
