On Sunday i.e. March 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted his monthly radio programme-Mann Ki Baat. From addressing the Indian farmers to alerting netizens about increasing COVID-19 cases, he mentioned about lot of things in his speech. Today marks the completion of 75 episodes of this radio programme which PM has been using to connect with the Indian since 2014. Here check out the highlights from PM Modi’s speech.
Highlights from PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat:
- PM Modi expressed his gratitude towards the listeners for being constantly connected to him on this radio programme. He said, “It is the 75th episode of Mann Ki Baat, very happy and glad that we have been connected with each other through this broadcast programme. We have spoken about many interesting subjects including education, technology, sports, culture and traditions.”
- Mentioning about the increasing COVID-19 cases, PM Modi said, “We as a nation had been trying hard to get Corona vaccine. And today we are conducting the biggest vaccine programme in the world. I am happy to see that people are getting vaccine doses from across the country.”
- PM Modi appreciated Mitali Raj for her impressive performance in the International Women’s cricket tournament this year. She become the first Indian from women’s cricket team to have scored 10,000 runs. PM said, “Mitali has inspired many women and men in the world. I congratulate her for scoring 10,000 runs in women’s cricket. PV Sindhu won silver medal recently.” Prime Minister also appreciated Indian women who are making their mark in all other fields such as science, sports and business.
- The farmers protest has caught the attention of international media over last few months. Farmers have been protesting against the newly introduced three Farm Bills. Addressing to the Indian farmers, PM Modi urged Indian farmers to start using new alternatives for farming which can boost the quality productions. “This will increase their incomes and also sweeten their lives,” said PM Modi.
- Farmers should adopt new alternatives along with traditional farming methods which can boost income and it will also create more employment opportunities for the farmers community. “We are known for manufacturing bee wax and I want farmers to join bee-farming,” he stated further.
