Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was in headlines as he was admitted to the AIIMS when he complained about having the chest pain and problem in breathing on Saturday i.e May 9. As per the latest reports he has been discharged from the hospital.
Manmohan Singh was rushed to ICU and he was treated in a private ward of Cardio-Thoracic Sciences Centre (CTVS) unit of the institute. He was made to get tested for several medical tests and apparently reports he was also tested for the novel coronavirus. However, his results for COVID-19 infection came out negative and currently, he is under the supervision of Nitish Nayak. As per a report in The Hindu, a senior AIIMS official informed the daily that, “He is stable and responded well to the medical care provided.”
The 87-year-old senior Congress leader served the nation as the 13th prime minister from 2004 to 2014. In the year 2009, he underwent a successful coronary by-pass surgery at AIIMS, a complex beating-heart operation that took nearly 14 hours.
