Mandsaur gangrape: CM Chauhan seeks death sentence for accused, police constitutes SIT
The gangrape case of an eight-year-old schoolgirl from Mandsaur took a political turn on Saturday, forcing Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to intervene and the state police to constitute a Special Investigative team to probe the matter. Though Opposition leader from Congress Jyotiraditya Scindia had demanded a CBI inquiry earlier.
Expressing his concern and condemning the gangrape, Chauhan was of the opinion that all the accused should be hanged to death and added that the case should be resolved through fast track. “The rape case that happened in Mandsaur has shocked everyone. We all want that people who did such heinous crime should be hanged to death. Human rights are for humans, not for the devils. This case should be resolved through fast track”, he said.

He said, “It took a lot of time to lodge an FIR in the rape case of a 8-year-old girl in Mandsaur. Even today the investigation is not going in the right direction. We demand a CBI inquiry in the case. Women in my state don’t feel safe.”

Both the accused – a labourer Irfan alias Bhaiyu and Asif – have been arrested by police team. Though police are trying to solve this case, doctors treating the victim had informed that she is still suffering from mental trauma and until she recovers, she can not speak with the police officers. Indore’s M Y Hospital superintendent informed that victim’s condition is improving and she is being monitored continuously.
According to the case filed by police, the minor girl was waiting for her father after school on Tuesday and was lured by accused. They then gangraped and assaulted her too. After that they slit her throat so that she could not tell the incident to anyone. Doctors treating her said that they had to perform two surgeries as she had been severely assaulted. But, due to the CCTV footage, accused have been arrested.
