Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee will take oath as the chief minister of West Bengal on Wednesday. The popular leader emerged victorious in the high-stakes West Bengal Assembly elections on May 2. The TMC registered a landslide victory in polls winning 213 seats in the 294-member West Bengal assembly.
Mamata Bannerjee is all set to take an oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive term today. The CM’s predecessor Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, leader of Opposition of the outgoing House Abdul Mannan, and CPI(M) veteran leader Biman Bose are among the few leaders who have been invited to the ceremony. But the Chief ministers of other states and leaders of other political parties have not been invited to the ceremony. This is due to the current Covid-19 situation in the country. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has also been invited to the ceremony
The oath-taking ceremony is being organized at Raj Bhavan and will be a low-key program due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The charismatic leader of Bengal has reached the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata for her swearing-in ceremony.
