Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas is clinically stable still in ICU
Tovino Thomas is 'clinically stable', continues to be under supervision, says medical bulletin
Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas suffered a stomach injury while shooting an action sequence for his film Kala. He was taken to Renai Medicity at Palarivattom in Kochi after he complained of severe pain in the abdominal area. After initial tests, he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. At present the actor is clinically stable but still in ICU.
The official statement shared by Renai Medicity on Facebook read, “Actor Tovino Thomas was brought in to our Accident & Emergency department at 11.15 am on 07.10.2020 with c/o severe abdominal pain. He was immediately taken up for CT angiogram which revealed mesenteric hematoma (blood dots). Since there was no active bleeding, he was shifted to ICU for 48 hrs observation. His blood counts were elevated and he is being treated with appropriate antibiotics.”

He will be under observation for another 48 hours. “In case of any deterioration in his condition, he may be taken up for an immediate laparoscopic procedure. Presently his condition is satisfactory (sic),” the hospital added.
Kaala also stars Lal, Divya Pillai, and Sumesh Moor in important roles alongside Thomas. The film has been directed by Rohith VS and it is produced by Siju Mathew under the banner of Adventure Company In Association. Tovino Thomas is one of the co-producers of the film.
This is not the first time Tovino has been injured. The actor has in the past also met with an accident while shooting for the movie Edakkad Batallion 06, while shooting a dangerous fire sequence.
