STORY:
Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer ‘Malang’ is scheduled to hit the theatres on Friday. (7 February 2020)The trailer was a hit with the masses. However, we have watched the movie and let’s find out if it really does ‘Unleash The Madness’?
Talking about the story of ‘Malang’ it begins with Advait (Aditya Roy Kapur) leaving his house and planning an impromptu trip to Goa whereas the same goes with Sara (Disha Patani) who leaves London and catches a flight to Goa. The twosome meets at a party as complete strangers, end up consuming drugs and spending the whole night together and decide to make a settlement of spending their time together and exploring things. The real narrative begins after five years on a Christmas night where Advait goes on a killing spree.
Anjaney Agashe (Anil Kapoor) on the other hand plays a protagonist who has been a police officer for years and does things according to his way. Whereas, Michael Rodriguez (Kunal Kemmu) is shown as a cop who does everything according to the law. Now, both the bad as well as the good cop are behind Advait to track him down, anyhow they catch him and that’s when the purpose for him killing the police officers gets revealed. ‘Malang’ is about how an incident changed the life of Advait, Sara, Agashe, and Michael.
REVIEWS:
The story basically is about revenge and the impact they have on each other’s destiny. Talking about their casts, Kunal Kemmu is amazing and has stood out in some scenes. Aditya Roy Kapur for a change was not shown as a drunkard and he was totally in his element. His physical transformation is mind-blowing. Anil Kapoor being the amazing actor that he is, has nailed his character. Talking about Disha Patani she is mindblowing in the thriller. Not forgetting, Ellie AvRam, she totally nails the hippie character and also plays an important part in the movie.
Though the film was quite stretched but we end up loving each moment. The second part is quite interesting as all the action and thrills are seen in it.. The first part is all Aditya and Disha staying in a hippy community without worrying about the world, doing drugs, smoking, and drinking, hopping from one party to another, facing their worries and living their desires.
Mohit Suri’s direction was great but at some places, the editing of the movie could have been a little better and also the dialogues. Talking about the music of ’Malang’ is quite nice and pleasing especially the title track of the movie.
All in all, Malang is a must watch this weekend. Watch it for Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor.
