Mumbai is known for its glittering environment, however, it is now suffering the outage of power due to a major failure in the power supply of the state. Most of the areas in Mumbai on Monday i.e. October 12 are facing the power cuts. The lifeline of the city, Railway working has also been highly affected.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) department took to their official Twitter handle and stated that the electric supply is interrupted due to TATAs incoming electric supply failure. Cities such as Juhu, Andheri, Mira Road, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Panvel are among the areas which have been affected largely due to the power cuts.
As per a report by Republic TV, BEST PRO Manoj Warade informed that “There is a grid failure due to that supply coming from TATA power to BEST is stopped, so we can’t distribute power to our 10 lakh consumers. I regret personally, as soon as the grid is restored, supply will be restored.”
