Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has recorded his statement at Mumbai’s Santa Cruz Police Station about actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide on Monday. He was spotted leaving the police station after recording the statement by the paparazzi.
ANI news agency shared the news along with pictures of the director leaving the police station. ANI tweeted, “Mumbai: Director-Producer Mahesh Bhatt leaves from Santa Cruz Police Station, where he had come to record his statement in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.”
Mahesh Bhatt is the latest in a long line of celebrities that have been summoned by the Mumbai Police in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Actor Kangana Ranaut and Apoorva Mehta have also been questioned regarding the same.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Sunday told the media, “Mahesh Bhatt will be called for questioning tomorrow. We will later also call Karan Johar’s manager too. If needed, Karan Johar may also be called for the questioning in the case”
Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his residence on June 14. Post mortem report stated that the actor had committed suicide. Meanwhile, police are investigating the cause behind the actor’s suicide amid allegations of sabotage within the film industry. The police have recorded 37 statements so far. These include director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, filmmaker, and Yash Raj Films (YRF) chairman Aditya Chopra and film critic Rajeev Masand.
Before making his statement to the police, Mahesh Bhatt shared a cryptic post via Twitter. He wrote, “We are here for a blink of an eye. Pride dissolves in the presence of death. May we accept our mortality. This too shall pass.”
