Maharashtra to lift lockdown restrictions from June 7, all you need to know

The Maharashtra government announced that it will lift Coronavirus lockdown restrictions from Monday. A five-level unlock plan will begin from June 7, which will be based on the COVID positivity rate and the availability of oxygen beds in the state. The new order was issued late on Friday after a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority a day before.
Level 1:
Shops selling both essential and non-essential items, malls, theatres, restaurants, and public places for outdoor activities will be open. Weddings, funerals, industry, construction activities can resume without restrictions. Local trains have been allowed with the permission of the local disaster management authority. 18 districts, including Ahmednagar, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Jalgaon, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Yavatmal, will come under this level.
Level 2:
Restrictions will be followed where the positivity rate is below 5 percent and oxygen bed occupancy is between 25 to 40 percent. Theatres, multiplexes, malls, gyms, and restaurants can operate at 50 percent of their capacity. Local trains will not be allowed. Shops will be allowed to stay open during regular hours and section 144 will be in place.
Level 3:
Mumbai and most of its neighboring cities like Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Navi Mumbai fall in the level-3 category. . These areas will continue to be under curfew after 5 pm every day. Essential shops can operate will 4 pm on all days and non-essential shops and establishments can now open till 4 pm on weekdays. Malls and theatres will stay closed. Section 144 will be applicable in level 3 areas.
Gyms, salons will open only till 4 pm. Restaurants can stay open till 4 pm on weekdays. After 4 pm, only takeaway services will be allowed. Public places for outdoor activities will only be open from 5 am to 9 am. Local trains can only be used by essential workers and women. Only 50 people will be permitted at weddings and 20 at funerals.
Level 4:
Essentials to stay open till 4 pm on all days. No movement post 5 pm and none on weekends. The manufacturing sector will be allowed to open with 50 per cent capacity. . Private offices of only the ‘exempted category’ will be allowed, while government offices can operate at 25 percent of their capacity. Weddings may only have 25 people and funerals 20. Palghar, Pune (Rural), Raigad, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg and Beed come under this category.
Level 5:
Level 5 will follow nearly a complete lockdown situation. Essential shops will be open till 4 pm and only home delivery for restaurants will be allowed.
