Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Karnataka and few other regions have contributed with the highest number of Coronavirus cases in the second wave. This is the highest spike ever since the pandemic hit the nation last year. According to the data issued by the health officials with over 3.88 lakh people receiving the COVID-19 jabs in Maharashtra, the overall immunization count has crossed the mark of 1.53 crore count.
On Tuesday alone 3,88,247 eligible people were inoculated according to the data. These include 4,017 healthcare workers to receive the first dose, while 9,899 people were given the second dose. Reportedly, the state has inoculated a total of 1,53,37,832 people so far, including 25,15,076 in Mumbai alone. The fresh cases tally stands at 66,358 counts while the fatalities stand at 895.
Considering the worsened situation because the COVID-19 outspread the state to continue its lockdown-like restrictions till mid-May. The lockdown-like curbs in the whole state have been extended till May 15, the state Cabinet took the decision on Wednesday (April 28), according to the latest reports. The official announcement for what’s allowed and what’s not allowed is yet to be unleashed. Apparently, the MAHA saw a 23% drop in daily cases resulted in 48,700 people testing positive compared to 66,191 a day earlier.
