CM Uddhav Thackeray's Wife Rashmi Thackeray Tests COVID-19 Positive Admitted To Hospital
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s wife Rashmi Thackeray has tested a COVID-19 positive. She was admitted to H N Reliance Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. Rashmi’s COVID-19 test came out positive on March 22 night. She was quarantined at home. But has been shifted to the Mumbai hospital since March 30, after she complained of weakness.
“Her COVID-19 test came out positive on Monday night. She has been quarantined at ‘Varsha”, the official residence of the chief minister,” said an official.
The development comes three days after the CM’s son Aadiya Thackeray had tested coronavirus positive. The Minister of Tourism and Environment is presently recovering at home.
The CM and Rashmi Thackeray had taken the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the government-run J J Hospital here on March 11.
Rashmi Thackeray is editor of ‘Saamana’, the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena.
Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 27,918 new Covid-19 cases and 139 deaths. 23,820 patients recovered from the deadly virus. The rising cases of coronavirus all over the country are a mark of concern. The government has imposed strict restrictions and increased the testing and vaccination drive to curb the spread.
India reported 53,480 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total tally of infections to 1,21,49,335, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
