Madonna attended a small birthday party held for her photographer friend Steven Klein after testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies. The DailyMail released pictures from the party where Madonna is hugging and socializing with the guests present. This has caused quite a lot of backlash for the ‘Like A Virgin’ singer. Many have criticized the singer for her blatant disregard for social distancing norms.
However, celebrity photographer Steven Klein took to his Instagram to respond to the comments. He wrote, “we have all been in quarentine [sic] together! We take it very seriously”.
Many of the guests joined the party via Zoom. Madonna was one of the guests physically present for the party. It is reported that the singer even joked about the cake being a ‘Covid Cake.’
Despite Klein’s assertions, none of the guests present at the party were seen wearing masks. No rules of social distancing were being followed during the event.
Madonna had recently revealed that she has tested positive for the COVID-19 antibodies during the 14th edition of her Quarantine Diary on Instagram TV.
“Took a test the other day and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car, and I’m gonna roll down the window and I’m gonna breathe in the Covid-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining,” Madonna said in the video.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently state that even if you have the antibodies, it doesn’t make you immune to the virus.
