Madhur Bhandarkar announces his next film ‘India Lockdown’ inspired by COVID-19 events

On Wednesday, the ‘Fashion’ director Madhur Bhandarkar announced his new project, ‘India Lockdown’ after three years which will be inspired by the ongoing Coronavirus events in the world.

Film critic and analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handle to announce the same, he stated as: “MADHUR BHANDARKAR ANNOUNCES NEXT FILM… IT’S OFFICIAL… #MadhurBhandarkar announces his next directorial venture… Titled #IndiaLockdown… Inspired by true events… Casting underway… Produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures… Starts Jan 2021.”

The film will be produced by Madhur Bhandarkar’s Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures. More details about the film are yet to be shared.

Recently, Madhur accused Karan Johar of tweaking the title owned by the latter and using it for Dharma productions’ upcoming reality Netflix web-show, ‘The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.’ Later, KJo issued an apology to the ‘Page 3’ director over the same. Madhur also responded and accepted the ‘Student Of The Year’ director’s apology.

He made a directorial debut in Bollywood with 1999’s ‘Trishakti’ which starred Arshad Warsi, Sharad Kapoor, Milind Gunaji and Radhika in the pivotal role. Recently, in 2017 he director the political thriller film, ‘Indu Sarkar’ which featured Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Nitanshi Goel and Supriya Vinod.
