Liverpool lift Premier League trophy for first time in 30 years

Liverpool‘s 30-year wait to lift the league title finally ended on Wednesday. The team finally won the Premier League trophy aloft at Anfield following their rollercoaster 5-3 win against Chelsea. The Merseyside club has lifted the trophy after defeating Chelsea at Anfield stadium.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have finally received the coveted silverware nearly a month after they were crowned champions.

Check out the historical moment here:

Kenny Dalglish, the last Liverpool manager presented the medals wearing a red face mask. He handed the trophy to captain Jordan Henderson who held the Premier League trophy aloft at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s squad were presented with the trophy on a special podium built on the Kop stand. The night was filled with fireworks.

Liverpool’s players belted out a rendition of the club’s anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” along with manager Juergen Klopp and his staff.

Sadly fans could not be a part of the momentous night at Anfield Stadium. This was due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Police had issued a 48-hour dispersal order to stop fans gathering in large numbers across the city. But many did gather outside to celebrate the occasion by letting off flares and fireworks.
