Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday’s romantic sports action, Liger is one of the most-anticipated films of the year. The movie was slated for a theatrical release on September 9, this year, however, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the makers have decided to postpone the release of the film.
Dharma Productions issued a statement on social media and tweeted as: “In light of the current environment and the testing times our country is facing, our focus is solely on helping the community. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of the teaser of #LIGER. We hope you’re staying safe, staying healthy and staying home.”

Recently, the makers of Liger brought on board Hollywood Stunt Choreographer Andy Long and his team to choreograph stunt sequences for the Puri Jaganath directorial.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film will also feature Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy among others. It has been co-produced by Charmme Kaur along with the director’s production house Puri Connects. Liger has been shot simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi and will be dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
For the film, Devarakonda, who plays a kickboxer with a stutter, underwent a dramatic physical transformation for his role and went to Thailand for martial arts training. While Vijay will be making his debut in Hindi, Ananya will mark her debut in Telugu.
