RSS leader Indresh Kumar asked Christians to give-up on eating beef, claiming that since Jesus Christ was born in a cowshed, Christians should consider Cow as “holy” and should stop eating it.
Referring to the mob lynching incident in Rajasthan that claimed the life of a Muslim man named Akbar Khan, who was beaten to death by a group of people on suspect of smuggling cows, Kumar said that “Mob lynching can’t be welcomed…but if the practice of eating cow meat is stopped, many such crimes of the ‘Satan’ could be stopped.”
“Lynchings will stop if people don’t eat beef. The cows must be protected and cowdung should be used as cement, then both poverty and violence will end,” he added during the inauguration of Jagran Hindu Manch at a hotel in Ranchi.
“…not a single religion in the world approves killing of cows. Be it Christianity, which talks of ‘Holy Cow’, because Jesus was born in a cowshed; or Islam, where killing cows is banned in Mecca and Madina (cities in western Saudi Arabia); or any other religion, killing a cow is not approved anywhere.”
Kumar also claimed that the phrase “Holy Cow” was from Christianity because Jesus was born in a cowshed and hence Cows should not be slaughtered.
He emphasized on the role of “sanskar” for dealing with the mob lynching problems, saying that although law and order must be framed and the government should act appropriately to stop such violence, the society should be also be given the right “sanskar” to deal with the issue.
