Superstar Akshay Kumar was gearing for the release of his much-awaited film Laxmmi Bomb on May 22. But due to the coronavirus outbreak, the release of the films have been postponed. Now there are reports that the movie might release digitally. Rumours abound that a fall out between Akshay Kumar and Shabina Khan is the reason the movie is being released digitally.
As reported by Bollywood Bubble, Shabina and Akshay Kumar are upset about each other’s political allegiances. Where the Mission Mangal star is a right-wing nationalist, Shabina detests the current government. She had been expressing her displeasure over the government’s failure at handling Coronavirus Pandemic in India on social media. Despite calls from Akshay Kumar, her tweets didn’t stop. Finally, Akki warned her that he will not be part of promotions.
The report further adds, Reportedly the makers have now sold the movie to the OTT platform and Laxmmi Bomb is all set to release on Hotstar. Despite Akshay being a huge star, the initial conversations with STAR had begun without his consent. Eventually, he gave up and told his close friends that he’s got nothing to do with the film anymore.
Laxmmi Bomb is the Hindi remake of horror comedy Tamil hit Kanchana. The film features Kiara Advani and Akshay Kumar in the lead. It is being helmed by filmmaker Raghava Lawrence. The film’s plot revolves around a man who is afraid of all things supernatural. But is forced to confront his fear as his body gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender called Laxmmi.
