STORY: The movie is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Kanchana. The film deals with a transgender ghost seeking revenge for being wronged and haunts everyone who is staying in the house.
REVIEW: Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer was a highly anticipated movie of the year, however, it has a massive disappointment. Laxmii is surely the second-worst movie of the year after Sadak 2. The director failed to impress the audience. After watching the film, I am really glad that the movie did not release in the theatres. Laxmii had set a high benchmark, especially with Akshay as the lead in the film, it should have been much better, however, Khiladi Kumar did not do well in this film, full marks to him for playing the role of a transgender in the film.
The genre of the film is horror-comedy, but, sadly, it was not funny nor there were scary scenes in the movie. Ayesha Raza Mishra and Ashwini Kalsekar play the role of mother and daughter-in-law, and it’s only their crackling bond that made the film a little watchable. Sharad Kelkar shines and how in his 20-minute cameo, where he played the role of a transgender and he surely stole the show. Kiara Advani was hardly seen in the movie, but she surely nailed in the Burj Khalifa song. The editing and cinematography of the film could have been much better, the songs in the movie felt unnecessary.
Overall, Laxmii could have been much better, however, it was quite a disappointment and it is definitely not worth the watch.
