Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav have been granted bail. The bail was granted to Lalu Prasad Yadav by Jharkhand High Court. The political leader was sentenced in the fodder scam for the excess withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka Treasury case.
Speaking to ANI his son said, “We were confident that we’ll get justice. Lalu ji has served half of his sentence, High Court granted him bail on that ground. We thank High Court. He’s admitted at AIIMS.”
AS per a PTI report, Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail by Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh. The former Bihar Chief Minister was granted bail on the conditions that he will neither leave the country without permission. Also, he will neither change his address and mobile number during the bail period.
The RJD chief has been imprisoned since December 2017. He was sentenced to seven years of jail in 2018 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and seven years under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
