La Liga giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid played out a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday.
Diego Costa headed home the hosts to help break the deadlock before Barcelona were rescued from another defeat with French forward Ousmane Dembele.
The game lacked that thrill and it looked as if it would head to a goalless draw but Diego Costa’s header–the first shot on target in the match–gave the hosts a lead.

But Barcelona were rescued courtesy the efforts of Dembele, who came off the bench and maintained his composure to slot one into the net to help Barcelona avoid a second consecutive loss in the La Liga following their 3-4 loss to Real Betis at home in their last match.
The match initially saw both Messi and Suarez being prevented from making any entry into the Atletico box by a relatively young defence of Atletico Madrid.
Spanish striker Costa, then got into the act as he came up with a thumping header to score his first goal against the Catalonian giants.
Coach Diego Simeone might have fancied a win at that point of time and they would have moved to the first place table.
But Dembele, who has been under fire of late for his performances ensured that Barcelona walked home with at least a point.
