Kuldeep Yadav’s exclusion a ‘shame’ for India, says Shane Warne

It was a “shame” that India didn’t have Kuldeep Yadav on board for the last two Test matches in England said Australian spin great Shane Warne.

Kuldeep, along with Murali Vijay faced the axe as young batsmen in the form of Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari were called up to the side. Kuldeep had done well for India in the ODIs and T20Is but he failed to make an impact in the only Test match he has played so far in England.

Adding that Kuldeep could have played a crucial role for India, he, as quoted by the Times Of India said, “Kuldeep is very good. It’s a shame that he has been sent back to India. He should have played this Test and the next one at the Oval where it spins. With a bit of wrist spin and a bit of mystery, he would have had a lot of success.”

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has had his fair bit of success so far in the series despite the pace-friendly conditions and Warne feels that the Tamil Nadu tweaker should be more patient and look for new ways to succeed.

” As far as Ashwin is concerned, he should be a bit more patient. He has to understand five wickets won’t come every day and he has to find ways to do well in conditions that don’t suit him,” he adds.
