Kuldeep Yadav joined an illustrious list of bowlers after becoming just the second Indian and seventh international bowler to register a five-wicket haul in each of the three formats of the game.
Yadav took five for 57 runs during West Indies’ second innings in the first Test against India to achieve the milestone. He is the second Indian bowler after Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take a five-wicket haul in all the three (Test, ODI and Twenty20) formats of the game.
Tim Southee (New Zealand), Ajantha Mendis (Sri Lanka), Umar Gul (Pakistan), Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka) and Imran Tahir (South Africa) are the other bowlers to have achieved the feat.

Kuldeep began with a wicket of Shay Hope for 17, trapping the right-hander plumb in-front of the wicket. He then followed it up with the wickets of Shimron Hetmyer (17) and Sunil Ambris (0) in the same over as West Indies lost their middle-order in a space of three balls.
Roston Chase (20) was the next to depart failing to read the 23-year-old’s guile before opener Kierron Powell (83), who until then looked set, failed to read Kuldeep’s googly and offered a catch to debutant Prithvi Shaw, to help the young bowler complete his maiden five-wicket haul in his just fourth Test match.
Kuldeep had earlier taken five-wicket in both the ODI and T20 formats in the recently concluded series against England.
Playing in the first T20 against England, Kuldeep had finished with figures of 5/24 leading India to a victory. He also in the process joined Yuzvendra Chahal and Kumar in becoming just the third Indian bowler to take five wickets in a single T20 innings.
This was, however, not the end and going into One-Day format Kuldeep once again dazzled in the first ODI match taking six wickets to return with his first ODI five-wicket haul.
“It’s very difficult to bowl with the red ball straightaway when you are coming from white b0all cricket. Sometimes it takes time to adjust,” he admitted following India’s emphatic victory in the opening match.
“I bowled too full in the first innings, I bowled according to the wicket and the batsman in the second innings. Ravi Shastri told me to try and bowl from round the wicket. I was happy with that angle. I am learning and I am happy with the way it all came out,” he added.
