Spencer: Kristen Stewart Explains Her Admiration for Princess Diana
Kristen Stewart explains her admiration for Princess Diana at the 'Spencer' premieres at Venice.
On Friday, the world premiere of the highly-anticipated biographical drama ‘Spencer’ took place at the78th Venice Film Festival. While speaking to the media, Kristen Stewart who essays the role of Diana, Princess of Wales expressed her admiration for the late Princess.
Kristen told journalists ahead of the premiere: “She was the most famous woman in the world, she was the most photographed woman in the whole world, I have tasted a high level of that, but really kind of nowhere near that monumental, symbolic representation of an entire group of people, an entire country — and the world,” she said.
Further, Kristen said: “I can relate but I don’t think anyone can understand what that felt like.”
According to Variety, via Just Jared, the actress, 31, quipped, “I took more pleasure in my physicality making this movie than I have on anything. I felt more free and alive and able to move and taller, even.” Further, she also said during the filming some royal advisers were also present on set. Talking about Diana, Kristen said: “That really sad thing about her is that as normal and casual and disarming in her air, immediately she also felt so isolated and lonely.”
‘Spencer’ is directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Steven Knight. Based on the later years of the marriage of Diana, Princess of Wales and Charles, Prince of Wales, the film stars Kristen Stewart and Jack Farthing as Diana and Charles, respectively. Timothy Spall, Sean Harris, and Sally Hawkins also star. The film is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on 5 November 2021 by Neon and Topic Studios.
