Indian in form batsman KL Rahul jumps to third spot in latest ICC T20 rankings. He scored 70, 101 not out, six and 19 in his last four outings. The 26 year old jumped nine places ahead in the rankings to clinch a career high third position in the rankings.
Australian opener Aaron Finch became the top-ranked batsman in the shortest format of the game. He is the first player in the history of T20 Internationals to cross 900 points. The Australian skipper moved three places up at end of the tri-series in Harare against Pakistan and Zimbabwe.

Aaron Finch had started the Zimbabwe T20Is in fourth position on 763 points. A tour with 391 runs not only helped him go past Babar Azam, Colin Munro and Glen Maxwell, but also earned him 128 points. He scored a humongous 172 runs in a single innings against Zimbabwe on July 3rd. Apparently he tops the chart with 891 points next to his name.
Australia unfortunately crashed to a six wicket defeat against Pakistan in the tri series final as Fakhar Zaman outplayed them by smashing 91 in just 46 balls. The Pakistan opener who also scored the famous ton against India in the Champions Trophy final in 2016 holds the second spot in the ICC T20 rankings.
Rohit Sharma climbed up two places and holds the 11th rank whereas, captain Virat Kohli fell down to 12th rank. He was earlier placed on the eight position in T20’s. They both are the next highest ranked Indian batsmen in the chart.
In team standings, Pakistan have retained the top position with their tri-series victory in Zimbabwe while India have surpassed Australia to take second place after clinching the three match series against England 2-1.
Team rankings remain crucial as Australia plus the next nine highest-ranked sides will qualify directly for the 16-team World T20 2020 in Australia. The remaining six sides will qualify from the 14 team Qualifier in 2019.
