Indian Idol 12: Kishore Kumar’s son Amit says ‘didn’t enjoy episode at all’

Amit Kumar is the eldest son of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar and recently made an appearance as a celebrity guest on Indian Idol 12. The contestants of the show were seen singing evergreen songs of Kishore Kumar as a tribute to him.

As soon as the episode aired, netizens took to social media and slammed the makers. Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya, have also received a lot of flak for singing the songs for their singing, they also claimed that Kishore Kumar’s melodies were spoiled.

Soon after, in an interview with the Times Of India, Amit Kumar revealed that he did not enjoy the episode of Indian Idol 12 at all. He said that nobody can sing like his father Kishore Kumar as he was a mountain of a personality and man of many faces. He stated that today’s youngsters have no idea about the legendary singer, they just know ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ from ‘Aradhna’.

Further, Amit said that he was told to praise the contestants of the show and he did what was told to him. He said that he was told to uplift everyone because it was a tribute to Kishore Kumar.

“I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened,” Amit said.

Amit Kumar also said that he wanted to stop the episode.
