The bodyguard of King Salman has been shot dead in a personal dispute on Sunday, reported Saudi state TV channel. The deceased bodyguard of King Salman has been identified as Abdulaziz Al Fagham. The TV report stated that Al Fagham was killed in a personal dispute in Jeddah.
The state media issued a statement on Twitter and described the deceased bodyguard Al Fagham as “the bodyguard of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.”

According to a Saudi media report, Al Fagham was quite popular among Saudis as he was always present with the late King Abdullah and King Salman, his successor. In the year 2017, King Salman issued a royal order to promote Abdulaziz Al Fagham, which was considered an exceptional promotion to the rank of brigadier general.
Hours after the news broke, the state-run Saudi Press Agency said that the dispute saw a friend of al-Fagham shot him dead and injured another Saudi and a Filipino worker there. A gunfight erupted as security forces responded to the home that saw the shooter killed and five members of the security forces wounded, the news agency AP reported.
Saudi Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates tweeted this morning saying “Abdulaziz Al Fagham lived as a hero, and patriot, loving his country and his kings, a righteous son for his leadership … the whole of Saudi Arabia is grieved by his departure”.
