Kerala is suffering from the worst flood of the century and due to this, an estimated loss of Rs 19,512 crore has taken place in the state. Altogether, 223 lives lost and 12.47 lakh people are lodged in relief camps. Indian army had rescued 10,629 people so far and the condition of shelter homes is improving with the relief materials being sent from worldwide.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had requested people to donate generously for the cause.
Lets us take a look at who donated how much for the relief operations in Kerala:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Union Government): Rs 500 crore
Union Minister Rajnath Singh (Union Government): Rs 180 (100 + 80) crore
UAE (Government): Rs 700 crore
Telangana (Government): Rs 25 crore
Maharashtra government: Rs 20 crore
Governments of Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab, Bihar, Karnataka: Rs 10 crore each
Governments of Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand: Rs 5 crore
Governments of Chhattisgarh: Rs 3 crore, Manipur: Rs 2 crore, Manipur Rs 1 crore
Other than the state governments, businessmen and Bollywood stars too have contributed to the relief operations. The amount varies from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12.5 crore.
