Angry over the use of ‘abusive language’ against an alleged rape victim by a Kerala lawmaker — MLA PC George, National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma is all set to write the Kerala DGP to take immediate action against him. Calling the comments shameful, Sharma slammed George.
Sharma said that she will be writing to state DGP and request the authorities to take stringent action against these lawmakers who rigorously try to defame a woman. Stating that the nun is already facing discrimination (allegedly) after levelling sexual assault charges against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal, is not getting any sort of help from the Church.
Earlier, Kerala MLA PC George in his statement said that the nun a prostitute and had questioned on why the nun did not report the matter when the incident took place! He had said, “No one has doubt that the nun is a prostitute. Twelve times she enjoyed it and the 13th time it is rape? Why didn’t she complain the first time? (sic).”
However, it is to be known that the nun had filed a complaint with the Kottayam district police chief, alleging that Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal had raped her and had unnatural sex with her multiple times at a small town near Kottayam between 2014 and 2016, reports NDTV. On the contrary, Mulakkal has claimed innocence and said the truth will come out in the police investigation.
