Finally, the trailer of Kedarnath was released on November 12. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, who is making her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath.
In the film, Sushant is essaying the role of hard-working Muslim porter who carries the devotees on his back to the Kedarnath shrine for livelihood. Sara plays a Hindu devotee who falls in love with her bearer. How their love story gets entwined with the devastating Uttarakhand floods that hit the state in 2013 remains to be seen.
The film Kedarnath is being directed by Abhishek Kapoor, it goes with the tagline ‘Love is pilgrimage’ and mainly revolves around the 14-kilometre long journey from Gauri Kund to the Kedarnath shrine.
The teaser of the film released a few days ago put a full stop to the speculations around the release of the film. The makers had released the first song ‘Namo Namo’ on the occasion of Dhanteras which was an audio-visual delight.
“He [Sushant] is special. We have an unspoken connection which translates into crackling chemistry on the sets. Sara is equally evolved and possesses her own brand of maturity; when the camera comes on, it’s like some higher inner power takes over. Together, they share an on-screen bond that’s unusually captivating and effortlessly fresh,” the director was quoted as saying by India Today.
Earlier, the film was supposed to hit the theatres in June but was delayed for some internal issues. It is now slated to release on December 7. There were several production-related differences among the director and the producers which ultimately hampered the shooting of the film.
After this, Sara was also signed for Rohit Shetty’s big-budget action film titled Simmba starring Ranveer Singh.
