On Sunday, Congress leader and social activist Kavitha Reddy apologized to Kannada actress Samyuktha Reddy and her friends for assaulting and attacking them at a lake garden in Bengaluru.
Sharing the apology on her social media handle, Kavitha Reddy in her video and wrote: “I have always opposed Moral Policing. I realize that my actions were construed as such. An argument ended up in me reacting aggressively as well, it was a mistake. As a responsible citizen n progressive woman, I own up to n sincerely apologise to @SamyukthaHegde n her Friends!”
She also issued an official statement and tweeted as: “Have issued a letter as agreed with
@SamyukthaHegde, I hope that we can put this incident behind us and work towards a safer and better future for women.”
The ex-Roadies contestant, Samyukta, accepted the activist’s apology and shared the statement, and wrote as: “Apologies accepted Ms Kavitha Reddy. I hope we can all move forward from the incident and make women feel safe everywhere. #ThisIsWrongtoThisIsRight #ApologiesAccepted

On September 4, 2020, Samyukhta and her 2 friends working out in the park and that’s when Kavitha Reddy accused the actress of wearing inappropriate clothes in a public place. The actress and her friends were accused of indecent behavior and also threatened. Samyuktha shared videos of the incident on her social media page.
Post the incident, Hegde filed a complaint against Reddy, an FIR was registered against the social activist at the HSR Layout Police station. Kavitha Reddy also received immense flak on social media.
