Terrorists in Kashmir raided the homes of several police officials on Thursday evening and have kidnapped five members of five policemen. The kidnapping took place after the security forces did multiple raids and arrested relatives of some terrorists in the area, said sources.
The police source was of the opinion that the kidnapping took place as a pressure tactic by the terrorists so that security personnel stop conducting raids, reports NDTV. A policeman was kidnapped from his home in Pulwama district on Thursday and was released after being questioned and thrashed.
In similar incidents, terrorists barged into the houses of policemen in Pulwama, Anantnag and Kulgam districts and kidnapped the family members. Among the kidnapped people include — brother of a policeman posted in Srinagar and son of another policeman who works as a cook at police training centre.
Also, the son of a policeman was also kidnapped from Tral on Wednesday. The mother has appealed to the terror groups to show mercy and release her son. A senior policeman said that they are working to ensure the release and safety of the kidnapped people. This is to be known that this is the first time in 28 years that members of policemen have been kidnapped.
