On October 13, in Tumkuru district of Karnataka, an FIR has been lodged against Kangana Ranaut. This is regarding her controversial tweet on the new farm law. The actress had slammed people who are protesting against the farm laws passed by the Parliament. Her tweet post was not received well by a section of society. A police case has been filed against her by advocate L. Ramesh Naik recently.
While talking about Kangana’s tweet, Naik informed the news agency IANS, “My case against popular Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not to gain any publicity but to convey to her that what she did was wrong. When farmers take to the streets to protest against any government policy, they are not necessarily terrorists, as she thinks. I have joined many such protests, am I a terrorist? I need clarification on this and therefore I am fighting this case.”
For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut had shared a cryptic note on her Twitter handle reacting to the protestors who are against the farm bill. On September 21, she tweeted, “People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about farmers’ bills and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists.”
Reportedly, earlier the Tumkuru district had refused to probe the complaint filed by the advocate. However, the latest updates state that the Karnataka Police has finally lodged the FIR. The actress is yet to react on this.
