On Monday, Raj Kapoor, widely known as the greatest showman in the history of Indian cinema and entertainment celebrates his 96th birth anniversary today. He became of the cult actors of the Hindi Film Industry and has left behind a legacy of his own.
To commemorate this day, the actor’s granddaughters- Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan took to their social media handles and shared rare throwback photos of their grandfather on this special day.
Karisma shared a childhood photo of herself with the actor and she captioned the post as, “So many learning’s from my Dadaji.. remembering you on ur birthday..#grandpalove #legend.”

Kareena also shared a throwback picture of Raj Kapoor, along with his wife Krishna Raj Kapoor and father Randhir Kapoor. Sharing the image, the Good Newwz actress wrote, “There will never be another… Happy birthday Dadaji ❤️❤️”
Raj was called as a Showman and his love for the leading ladies was explored on the screen. He was nominated twice for the Palme d’Or grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his films Awaara (1951) and Boot Polish (1954). The actor’s films attracted worldwide audiences, particularly in Asia and Europe.
The actor suffered from asthma in his later years; he died of complications related to the disease in 1988 at the age of 63. After his demise, in 1988, his wife Krishna Kapoor also passed away in 2018.
