Karisma Kapoor's daughter Samaira makes short film debut, Ananya Panday's sister Rysa directs her
Karisma Kapoor‘s daughter Samaira Kapur is following the footsteps of her mother. The talented young lady has entered the entertainment industry with a powerful short film titled ‘Daud’. The short film not only marks the debut of Samaira but also of star kids like Rysa Panday and Jahaan Kapoor. Yes, ‘Daud’ has been directed by Ananya Panday’s younger sister Rysa while it also stars Jahaan, son of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor.
The seven-and-a-half-minute film revolves around a young girl from the slums of Mumbai, who makes a living by selling pencils. It is all about the young girl’s dream of becoming a runner and the hardships she faces living in a slum in Mumbai. How the young girl is helped by three young students (Samaira, Jahaan, and Dhaniti Parekh), who buy her shoes and encourage her to live her dream.

Daud is produced by Chunky Panday and a major portion of Daud was shot at St Andrews turf in Mumbai. It sends a strong message on friendship and the magic of helping each other.
Samaira is Karisma Kapoor‘s child with ex-husband Sunjay Kapur. Apart from Samaira, Karisma and Sunjay are also parents to son Kiaan. This is not Samaira’s first film; she had directed and acted in a short film titled Be Happy at the age of 10. The film was screened at the International Children’s Film Festival of India in 2015 in the ‘Little Directors’ category.
On the work front, Karisma Kapor has made a comeback with the web show ‘Mentalhood’. The Ekta Kapoor production revolves around modern-day parenting and its struggles.
