Karina Kriplani, head of BCCI’s Internal Complaints Committee steps down
Karina Kriplani, the head of BCCI’s Internal Complaints Committee has relinquished her post on Saturday, even before the completion of a six-month period since the body was formed by the cricket board.
This resignation by Kriplani comes after a day a three-member independent panel was formed by the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators which would investigate into the allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct made against BCCI CEO Rahul Johri by an unnamed woman on Twitter.
That she didn’t cite any reason for this move, was confirmed by a senior BCCI official, who was quoted by The Times of India as saying. “Yes, Karina has resigned from her post as Internal Complaints Committee head. She has not specified any reasons.”

The independent committee was formed by the Vinod Rai-led CoA to probe into claims of sexual misconduct made against Johri in the wake of such revelations as part of the #MeToo movement that has been raging wildly in social media.
Kriplani, before resigning, refused to comment on whether her committee would work with the independent panel in charge of probing the charges levelled against Johri.
Speculations hit a high when reports of another victim of Johri’s sexual miscreancy arose but it was all played down by BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary who stated that there wasn’t any new complaint against the BCCI CEO.
