Karim Benzema ruled out for two weeks with hamstring injury
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has suffered a hamstring injury, which could possibly keep him out for at least two weeks, reported Reuters on Tuesday.
Following Tests carried out today our player Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid medical team, he was diagnosed with an injury to his right hamstring,” said the Spanish heavyweights in a statement. They, however, refrained from giving a time frame from his return.
France international Benzema was injured in the second half of Madrid’s 0-1 defeat to Alaves in La Liga. It was a consecutive loss for the European champions following their defeat against CSKA Moscow by the same margin in the Champions League.

The defeat against Alaves was also Real’s second defeat in the league – the first was the 0-3 thrashing by Sevilla. They have also now gone four matches without a win in all competitions and have also failed to score a goal in each of those four matches.
Meanwhile, Benzema joins Marcelo, Isco and Dani Carvajal on the injury list of the club. The agency, however, reported that the 30-year-old will be fit before the all-important El Classico against Barcelona on October 28.
