Nepotism Debate: Kareena Kapoor Khan Says, ‘People Pointing Fingers Are Making Nepotistic Stars’ 

‘Dil Bechara’ actor, Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death has re-ignited the debate of nepotism in the B-town. Off late netizens were seen slamming starkids and filmmakers on social media. Few celebs faced the outrage and trolling on social media platforms. Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up about her opinion on the debate and she says that ‘same people pointing fingers are making nepotistic stars’.

Bebo in her recent conversation with Barkha Dutt was asked to comment on her being called as the ‘ultimate insider’ of Bollywood (in the backdrop of current nepotism debate). The actress replied stating that instead of actually understanding the situation, people are in attack mode. Looking at everyone from a privileged background in a negative light, the ‘larger picture’ needs to be looked at, she highlighted.

“21 years of working would not have happened with just nepotism. It is not possible. I can take a long list out of superstars’ children for whom it’s not been able to happen for them that way.” She highlighted that a doctor’s son would also like to be like their parents.”

“It might sound weird but probably my struggle is there. My struggle is there but it isn’t as interesting as somebody who comes with just Rs 10 in his pocket in a train. Yeah, it’s not been that and I can’t be apologetic about it,” she added further while talking about her privileged background.”

The ‘Good Newwz’ actress further says that its the audience who makes or breaks the stars. She says that the audience had made them. “Same people pointing fingers are the ones who have made these nepotistic stars right? Aap jaa re ho na film dekhne? Mat jao. Nobody has forced you. So I don’t understand it. I find this whole discussion is completely weird,” she said.

For the unversed, the nepotism debate all again rose to headlines post Kangana Ranaut’s explosive interview with Arnab Goswami. The ‘Queen’ actress had accused ‘Bollywood movie mafias’ and also had slammed few celebs for supporting people the nepotism in the industry.
