For the past few days, there have been reports doing rounds on the internet stating that Karan Johar’s ambitious project ‘Takht’ is being shelved after some creative differences between the team. The star-studded cast includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal Alia Bhatt Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar. Now, finally, the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director reacted to the reports.
In a conversation with SpotBoye, KJo denied the reports of ‘Takht’ being shelved, “Takht is not shelved. It’s just delayed,” he said.
This is not the first time, there have been reports of the movie being shelved, a few years back, many believed that Karan Johar has shelved ‘Takht’ after the debacle of ‘Kalank.’ However, he denied the reports and said that one film’s performance at the box office can not determine the future of the other.
In August 2018. Karan Johar took to his social media handle and announced his most-ambitious project ever – Takht. Sharing the poster of the film, he captioned it as, “An incredible story embedded in history…An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne… A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession…TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE….@dharmamovies @apoorva1972”
The period drama was scheduled to go floors in 2020 but was put on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The movie is produced by Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.
