On Tuesday, Karan Johar announced a new biopic, titled, ‘The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair’ adapted from the book ‘The Case That Shook the Empire.’ It will be based on the life of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, the former President of the Indian National Congress and member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council. He also fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Sharing the news, Karan Johar announced on his social media and wrote: “Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens. Directed by @karanstyagi.”

This biopic is set to be inspired by the book and will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The book has been written by Raghu Palat, the great-grandson of Sankaran Nair, and his wife Pushpa Palat. The film will go on floors shortly and the lead cast will be announced soon. KJo’s Dharma Productions will be presenting the movie along with Still & Still Media Collective.
Apart from this, KJo has a number of productions lined up like- ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Dostana 2’, ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’, ‘Finding Anamika,’ ‘Sooryavanshi,’ ‘Liger,’ ‘Takht,’ and the second season of ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.
