Karan Johar’s 2019 star-studded party was reported to be investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as it was alleged that there was a consumption of drugs at his house party. However, now, NCB Deputy Director-General Mutha Ashok Jain said in an official statement that Johar’s 2019 party video is not part of the probe.
According to a video by Times Now, the NCB Deputy Director-General said that Johar’s 2019 party is not related to the ongoing investigation of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. More than 18 people have been arrested so far, and that no new summons have been issued so far, said Ashok. The video was shared by the filmmaker and included B-town celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others.
On Saturday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had also arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad, who reportedly worked for Dharma Productions.
Earlier, Karan issued an official statement clarifying that no drugs were consumed in his 2019 party. “Certain news channels, print/electronic media and social media platform (s) are wrongly and misleading reporting that narcotics were consumed at a party that I, Karan Johar hosted on July 28, 2019, at my residence. I had already clarified my position way back in 2019 that the allegations were false. In view of the current malicious campaign, I am reiterating that the allegations are completely baseless and false, No narcotics substance was consumed in the party,” said KJo in his Instagram post.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh were summoned by the Narcotic Control Bureau in the drug nexus probe, and the latest reports state that the agency has now seized the cellphones of the actresses.
